This quarter's memory verses (1 John 4:9 - 12)

During this quarter, our memory verses are from 1 John 4:9 - 12.
This may seem like a strange passage for Christmas time.
Here is the passage, followed by an explanation of why we are doing this passage at this time of the year.

In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. 10 In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us.
Christmas is the celebration of God sending His Son to this earth (v. 9)
God sent His Son so that we could know and have real life. (v. 9)
Christmas is only one part of God's great gift to us.  (v. 10)
God's gift of Jesus should impact the way we live and care for others. (v. 11)

As we work on these verses, let us remember what a great, giving God we serve.
