God saves!! The Message in children's ministry and the sermon!!

This past week's Bible lesson was God makes David king from 2nd Samuel 1:1 - 2:4.

If you checked out the take home sheet from Sunday or the family resource guide you may have noticed one of the practice points was
Help your child apply these truths in the following way by praying for the salvation of unbelievers.

The children are being challenged to pray for unbelievers.
The adults are being challenged to pray for unbelievers.

Do you think there is a theme going on here?
YES THERE IS!!

In the 1st - 3rd grade class, the children were challenged to pray evangelistically.
Here is a specific example.
One of the students from Emmanuel Christian School requested prayer for Mrs. Decker, who recently broke her hip.
We talked about how to pray for her.
For a quick recovery.
For opportunities for her and others to SHARE and SHOW the love of God to the doctors, nurses and visitors.

Are you praying with your children for the salvation of family and friends who desperately need Jesus?

“It’s a parent’s job to teach their children skills that will help them in life.”

One of those skills is to sit still.

I received this article from a grandparent who wrote this comment to...

"I forgot this can be done – as a parent I did it. I taught it to them. But as a grandparent, I have taken on the more ‘they can’t be expected to sit still’ approach. Worth the few minutes to read it!  And a good reminder to us grandparents!"
