Children's Membership & Baptism
This is Pastor Dave.
I wanted to let you know about children's baptism and church membership.
In our church membership classes we have been telling people local church membership is important.
It is so much more than having your name on a list.
Church membership must include
a desire to serve the church and
a passion for spiritual growth in yourself and others.
As a church, we have also been stressing the reality that parents are the primary disciple makers in their children's lives.
With these principles of church membership and family disciplemaking, we want to encourage children who have been saved by the grace of God to become active members of EBC through the leadership and training of church AND the family.
With our upcoming membership classes at least one parent must attend membership with their child. It is our prayer that this will help parents teach their own children about biblical church membership.
These are the same classes an adult would take for membership at Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Pressing on,
David Rodgers
