REVIEW

Memory verse:
2 years through 5th grade
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness

The reason for the memory verse change this week:
The Bible is so much more than a collection of individual stories.
It is the revelation of who God is and who we are.
Everyone, even children, need to understand this truth.
This verse is essential in understanding what we believe about the Bible.

Memory verses for Pre-kindergarten

HERE is a pdf for the memory verses for the 2 year old through pre-kindergarten classes.
This list reflects what is in the newest family ministry guide.

We want to challenge the children to memorize verses that reveal who God is and show the story of His Glory as revealed in scripture.
At the same time we don't want to overwhelm children and families with so many verses that they never have a chance to think through and talk about what they say.

Prayer Requests for Fred & Rachel Whitman

Please pray for:
  1. Wisdom for the doctors as they decide the next steps in light of the second "pre"-cancerous sore under Jonathan's tongue. They have furlough meetings lined up through mid-December in the States.
  2. Patience and strength for Joshua as he awaits knee surgery for a torn ACL (knee). They are in the currently in the process of moving in to a larger apartment. With the church-planting responsibilities as well as family needs, it does not seem a good time to us for this injury but God knows best!
  3. Smooth transition as the preaching and leadership responsibilities in our church at San Sisto are passed over to Lucio Stanisci.
  4. Strength and wisdom as I substitute two Sundays a month at Ancona (on the east coast) for co-worker Andrew Bishop (currently on furlough) who recently joined Baptist Mid-Missions as a result of EBM's being dissolved.
  5. Wisdom as my prison ministry expands, now in three and possibly to five prisons, that I won't try to do too much.
  6. Help in finishing up the final touches on the first phase of our church building renovation in preparation for inspection (possibly in the coming weeks), as well as finances and help as we'll soon (as soon as our renter leaves) need to step into phase two, doubling the auditorium and adding more Sunday School rooms to keep up with the growth.
  7. Conversions as a result of our soccer ministry. I bring a short devotional (besides playing soccer) at both of the practices each week. Pray especially for Karan, (an Indian Hindu), Mamadù and Macan (Mali muslims) Fabian, Giovanni, Cristian (Ecuadorian Catholics), Michael (Nigerian Anglican) as well as Francesco and Pasquale (Italian Catholics), most of whom have visited the church.
  8. Quality time with our seven grandchildren (Rebecca, Cristina, Sammy, Elisa, Noah, Naomi, and Sofia) as we seek to be models for them and point them to Christ.
  9. Final plans, strength and safety for our Christian History Tour, Oct. 1-12, 2012.
  10. Pray that we might grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord pleasing Him in all our ways. Missionaries struggle daily with this as you do.
