I would encourage you to talk with your kids about what they learned.

Camp Patmos day #4: Why rest?

The theme for today is so much more than a plea to rest during cabin rest time.

It is a plea for the kids to put their trust in Jesus Christ.

It has been an awesome week out here on the island.  Thanks for your prayers!

Tuesday is No Hands!  Dinner.  Here are some pictures.

Camp Patmos Day #3: What & how did God create?

Good afternoon from Camp Patmos!

You can find more pictures at www.facebook.com/camp.patmos1

This morning we were reminded that God spoke the world into being and He did it in 6 days.
Could He have done it differently?
Yes!  But God's word shows us this is how He created the world and He does everything with a purpose.

God is sovereign over all creation, which means
He is THE Boss.
We need to trust Him.

Tonight we are going to be answering the question:  Who is man? from Psalm 8 and other passages!

Camp Patmos: day #2. Who created this world?

This morning the kids heard from the camp missionary David Lee (Leekids.org).  He and his family work with kids who have been abandoned and orphaned in Romania.

Some of the kids are getting ready to head out tubing.

Tonight, we are going to answer the question "who created this world?"

God, who is powerful, purposeful, three in one, great and worthy of worship.

Romans 1

We will also be talking about humility, choosing to accept the fact that your knowledge and abilities are limited and in light of that, you are regularly seeking help and graciously receiving advice and correction from God and others.

Camp Patmos Day #1: Microscopes vs. Telescopes

Heading to Camp Patmos!!

Monday evening chapel

Message Title:          Why was this world created?

Passage:                     Psalm 136, 150

Why did God create?

It's not about us.  It's about GOD!!

Isaiah 44:23

“Break forth into singing, O mountains, O forest, and every tree in it! For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, and will be glorified in Israel.”

Luke 19:40

He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

We magnify his glory like a telescope not a microscope.

Microscopes make small things look bigger than they are.

Telescopes make unimaginably big things look more like what they really are.

Our lives are to be telescopes for the glory of God.
