I am not teaching this month so I didn't spend time prepping a lesson.  However during a conversation with Krista tonight (Saturday) I realized there is a strong Christmas connection in this lesson.  

As we learned in the book of Judges, Israel was disobedient and didn't deserve God's mercy but in today's lesson, God sent a baby to help them.  This baby would become the judge and the prophet Samuel.

As we celebrate Christmas we remember that God sent a baby to VERY undeserving sinners - US.  This baby was the Messiah.  He didn't become the Messiah.  He was the Messiah.
